A colorful and acrobatic style of dance whose musical origin came from the development of rap and hip hop music, but whose art form came from street dancers, making hip hop in its various forms "the ultimate expression of oneself." All hip hop classes begin with a detailed warm-up, and progress to routines that rotate throughout the year.
Pop N' Lock is more specific, and is based on two techniques, one of quickly contracting and relaxing muscles to cause a jerk in the dancer's body combined with frequent "locking" of limbs in time with the music, and another that is used to create the illusion that the dancer's body is floating smoothly across the floor These classes also begin with a detailed warm-up, and progress to routines that rotate throughout the year. |
