Jazz/ Lyrical:An all-encompassing powerful dance medium which can take various forms, from explosive movement, to lyrical style (flowing, emotiotnal movement), to sharp and angular lines... you name it! All jazz classes are ballet based, focusing on correct execution of all movement and knowledge of terminology.
Modern:A very difficult dance form to describe, modern dance usually leans toward the abstract. It incorporates movements from ballet and jazz, but embellishes them to create a piece of work that reflects the choreographer's ideas and storytelling. Modern sometimes uses improvisation by the dancer to contribute to the feel of the piece.
Musical Theater: A more theatrical form of dance which usually incorporates acting and the use of props and characters to tell a story. Using music from broadway musicals and plays enhances this style of dance which is the ultimate showcase of "triple-threats" those who can act and dance and sing!
